Author Topic:  Sunday 2nd November- Rye - Lorne - Rye CANCELLED DUE TO UNSAFE WEATHER FORECAST  (Read 8045 times)

Offline 926537

As can happen this ride has been CANCELLED DUE TO UNSAFE WEATHER FORECAST of open waters.

Stand by Funsters as there will still be some rides happening from within the Bay

We are moving into the best part of the year so the rides will increase. This ride was previously planned, but canceled due to bad weather. Let's pray to the weather god.

We will also be judging ski's for a Show'N'Shine at the boat ramps. So polish those ski's well.

Intermediate to Advanced riders only.

Details
The details will vary depending on the weather conditions present when launching. So don't be upset if the ride changes in content.

The broad plan is to have two groups launch from opposite sides of the bay.

Group West will launch from St Leonards. TBC

Group East will launch from Rye at 9.00am.
Meeting Place for Group East will be at the Halls Rs Macca's at 7.30am for coffee and then leave at 8.00am

We will then meet in the middle of that part of the bay at Popes Eye at 9.30am. From there we will head south and exit the heads. Following the coastline, we will stop for a very short break at Barwon Heads. After a few photo's we will then continue on to Lorne. After another short break, and then we will head back to Queenscliff for lunch.

Also,

To launch from Portarlington probably won't be very practical - especially from the point of saving fuel.

We would probably launch from St. Leonards (only 10klms due north from Queenscliffe ferry terminal)

Queenscliffe would be a good place to launch save for the potential for lots of weed being around due to marina works.

:)

Would love to come though cup weekend is the round at Hamilton western Victoria which includes two 50K Enduro's perfect for the social ski's.

Not trying to hijack the thread but plenty of Lattes to be had at Hamilton.
A bad day on the water is better than a good day in the office.

Good work Hutch!

I've been meaning to drop in to the restaurant to say hi sometime.

As time permits this summer, it would be good to organise a ride with some locals! :)
