This sounds like fun KK. That part of the woods is beautiful at that time of the year.
I've done Gold Coast to Barmera before and it wasn't too bad except the Hay plain which went forever.
Anyway I think we can put our names up for a maybe at this stage. With any luck it will tie in with a race meeting (hint hint SA?) Last time we were there was awesome.

Anyway we will see who has the fastest RXP KK. Mine is on its way :)

I've just come back from a week up in Renmark.
Wow is all I can say for now.
But I sure have learned a heap from a few days riding with locals.

3 words come to mind to me now as a big group to come up to ride the waterways there. Safety, Respect and Behavior. I can't emphasise these enough.

River Rat has been in discussions with members of parliament regarding the tarnishing of pwc riders and South Australia's new No-Wash proposals. He is lobbying in our favour and we need to support him on this, 100%. (I was even thinking of 'The PWC LIFE' doing a special on Renmark, showing erosion issues due to floods, basic awareness', the pwc tourist and 'returning customer', etc. Anything to have good PR and something River Rat can use for future ammo.)

We, in no matter, way or form can jeopardise this for the pwc community and especially for South Australian jet skiiers.
We need to stay to the right, slow down accordingly, crawling pace passed waterskiiers in the water, give wide berths and slow down past canoeists, 4 knot rules as required by law, etc, etc

Like we always do, BEST BEHAVIOR PLEASE!!

Ride details:

Fri 8th March:

Optional Arvo ride. Launch at Wilkadene. Small blast to Loch 6 and back, then 10km's up river towards Renmark and back. Leave ski's on Beach/river at House, ready to go. Whoever does this ride will need to refill jerry's for Saturday's ride. Approx 30 - 40km ride.

Dinner: Either BBQ at House or Amazon Brewery

Sat 9th March:

AM: Ride east from House to NSW / SA / VIC border. 50km towards border and back. 100 km total. Refuel at House with already full Jerries. Would need approx 50 - 55 litres worth

Lunch: Amazon Brewery. We need to be out by 2 pm because of a wedding function

PM: Ride to Renmark and back, might do a few creeks depending on water levels. 80 - 90 km total.
7:30 Dinner at Renmark Club

Sun 10th Mar:

Early Am: Kingston on Murray to Waikerie and back. Coffee / Chocolates at Waikerie Chocolate Shop.
We need to make it back to Lock 3 for before their last lockage at 11:30 am. (Hence need for early start). Approx 95km's (tbc)

Lunch: Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre. (We will drive here on the way to Berri boatramp)

PM: Launch Berri and ride to Renmark and back. 80 km total

Dinner: Optional either BBQ at house or Amazon Brewery, depending on how everyone feels.

Approx 400 km of riding.
Make sure your ski is serviced and in good working order!

KK
Do we need to carry the Jerry's on the ski or just have them for refuelling?

One 20 strapped on will do.
The others are for refuelling which will save retrieving the ski, driving to a servo to fill and coming back to launch at the same spot. Times that by 13 -15 ski's and we would loose alot of riding time that day.

Also edited the meeting time for BP Calder. George noted that at that time alot of people would hit peak hour, city bound.
So we made it a bit earlier.

Awesome weather
Friday arvo: approx 70 km's playing locally (35 litres for me)
Sat: approx 200 km's into Victorian and NSW borders (100 litres)
Sun morning: approx 130 km's to Waikerie
Sun arvo: approx 75 km's Remark to Wilkadene.

Around 480 km's of river riding with an abundant backdrop of landscape and terrain. To put that in perspective, we rode from Melbourne to Echuca AND BACK, plus more, on Australia's most amazing network of river systems. Hence why it's called The Riverland and Mike's username is River Rat!

A truly amazing experience and I believe it's the longest distance I have ever covered in a weekend away in my history of riding.
A big thanks to everyone who participated and made it happen.
