11 Jan df323's Very Early Morning Ride from Mordi
« on: January 10, 2009, 04:59:08 PM »
df323's not been on the ski for a while and today he was the ramp B****.

I want to do an early relaxing ride.

Tomorrow looks like it is going to be nice.

df323 is going for a very early morning ride for two - three hours only.

Plan is to Arrive at Mordi ramp at 6.00 am and depart by 6.20 am.

Others are welcome along, but I want to leave by 6.20 am.

I want to see a bit of sun rise from the water.

Also, I can only ride for a max of three hours as I have other things I must do tomoroow.

If you want, meet me and then ride early with me and then we can split.

I expect that I will head south toward Mornington for a cuppa.  The cafe opens at 8.00 am.

Hey you look really cool on that df323. It would look much better without the windshield thing on the front. Thats for ol' fellas - not you!  chr

I want one of those screen things for my ski.

I also want it made with my spec prescription built in, then I will be able to see were I am going.

See you there df323... but am a bit concerned about just how 'relaxing' you mean by the ride.
If we depart Mordi 6:20 and ride the 20Kms to Mornington for 8 am coffee means we will probably be going too fast even at idle speed ?

However, always good to try something different i guess....... lol

If it's like glass..... then maybe a detour via Portarlington on the way to Mornington ?

Hope you guys had a great ride.

By the way 6:20 is not early it is the tim all rides should start in the summer you get the best of the bay in the AM
A bad day on the water is better than a good day in the office.

Wow, looks great. I had a great burn around the top end of the bay around 11am. It came in choppy around 12ish.

btw, Focker is not riding on the back of Cookie so he may not be out for a while wh

Thanks for posting the ride df323 and for your pleasant company.
We had visions of a glorious sunrise over a 'glass like' bay however it was not as smooth as we were hoping crossing the bay.

A nice highlight was from 10 Kms out of Portarlington where the sea flattened to near glass and the sun peeked through the grey and lit up all of Portarlington brilliantly. Soon after departing Portalington the sun disappeared once again until we got to Mornington (35 Kms away).

Great brekky and df323 having a bit of a chat to the local recreational fishermen scaling some nice freshly caught Schnapper at Mornington.

Nice 25 Km run back to Mordi (103 Km for ride).
