Jet Ski Insurance – 3rd Party Cover

Did you know your Jet Ski Registration does not include 3rd Party Liability cover?

The AJSA receives many calls about this and the reality is that if your inexpensive little Ski accidentally hurts someone you could be personally liable for any damages!
Most of the insurers offer 3rd Party only, if you have no interest in comprehensive cover for your Ski. It’s usually not a major expense either.
So don’t wait until it’s too late! Make sure you at least protect yourselves before you ride!

Tell Us what you think. Should 3rd party insurance be included in the Jet Ski registration like it is with your Car?

It really puts those who offer to run social rides without the formal PLI insurance at risk too.

If a member of the social group isn't insured and accidently hits a swimmer for example the swimmers health insurer is going to go after someone!

Update 8th April:Plenty of positive feedback on this issue. There has been one or two that don't feel the extra $80-$100 on their registration each year is worth it to them, given their personal situations. The point is everyone needs to be aware of the risk so they can make the choice according to their personal situation and for those they ride with. blma
