« on: June 16, 2013, 08:47:51 PM »
Hi all! Is anyone is keen 4 a ride this Saturday ? If the weather is like what it was like today , I would love to go for a ski around moreton island! All depends on weather . Will decide I think on Thursday once the weather sites tell us what's going on with the sea

Hey I'm a newy to the forum, I'd be keen to go for a run weather permitting, would be great to get out with a few ski's and meet some people with the same interest
As it does get a bit boring riding alone.

Cheers
Marc

rdsk1 the weather this weekend is not looking the best for a moreton island trip, so maybe a ride down the gold coast could be possible!! What's others think?

Gday Brian, the best way to get experience is to get out there and ride. Some of these rides are quite challenging, some are quite easy. Everyone's welcome, but depending on where and what the weather is doing sometimes a ride would be beyond a new riders capabilities. So the name of the game is to have fun, we also gotta come back with everyone in one piece. I guess the best way to figure out if a ride is for you is to have a chat to the host, ask for their ph number, and figure it out. These guys are really helpful and happy to pass on their experience. Keep an eye on this forum, come along for a few rides and you'll get some awesome fun along the way! wh

This weekend - especially Sunday should be good conditions for people with little or no experience in the ocean/surf - I may not be the best person to advise new people what to or not to do in ocean/waves - however I do believe I can help with many of the do's & don'ts beyond smooth/partially smooth waters & demonstrate some techniques, skills & knowledge that could come in handy.

The seaway is a great place to start with a well sheltered entry to the ocean.

On Saturday I will be at Sth Straddie 3-5kms north of Seaway in surf With Adrian & 1 or 2 others "practicing surf techniques" lol, leaving from grand ramp approx 10am

I will also be going out on sunday with similar plan but bringing lunch money in my hanky (not panky) - everyone welcome to help or observe

Hi Brian, this weekend would be a good time for you to go out in ocean with both conditions & quite a few of very experienced people with ocean/surf around you.
