Performance Question New Prop or Not
« on: April 01, 2014, 03:28:20 PM »
Hi All,

My Kwaka Ultra LX, has a bad lag after throwing it into a 90 turn R/H or L/H. The guys at Brisbane Marine shop KS drive, have told me it needs a new prop he said the gap is 0.20 to the wall, and the tolerance is 0.15 > 0.3, he said they took it for a water test ride and it was like driving a car with a slipping clutch. As this is my first ski, I did not think it was that bad,,, but hey I could be wrong. I would of thought the gap would need to be a lot more on the bad side than they have measured. To others that know, would they be right in saying that the turning lag of take off and pick up this is most likely...?
And what sort of dollars should i be paying for replacing old for new, he has indicated approx $360 + labour ???? cfee

It all sounds about right Kwaka, except how you did it!

Usually something has to go through the pump like rocks, gravel or lots of sand to get that sort of wear.

Anyway if it doesn't fix it you can just take it back to get it sorted.
See you on the water for some FUN!

If you look at the prop from underneath you can see if there is damage to the prop as Mandy suggested.

If you still have the ski at home I'd take it to Brisbane Kawasaki and get Jamie's guys to take a look. They'll set you straight.
