Advice Required Overheating Isssue Need Help
« on: May 30, 2016, 08:09:53 AM »
Hello I am new to the forum. So I will start off saying I bought myself a 2007 Kawasaki stx12f a few weeks ago. And we spent $1600 repairing it since it had been in storage for so long and the Kawasaki dealer said everything was fine after having a new water pump, battery, reverse drive was locked up so fixed that. And a few other small issues. So today I finally got to take it out 😁. After getting it into the water about a minute later I have an overheating Waring and beeping sound. So turned around instantly. The water port up front was spitting out some steam and not water. Took it home and flushed it and it had no issues. There was a lot of seaweed in the water at the ocean and I pulled about 8 pieces out of the main outlet and didn't see any at the inlet. Which leads me to the question. Was it the seaweed that made it overheat and most of it fell out when I pulled it out of the water or does it only take a little bit to clog it to make it overheat? It flushed fine. Water coming out both outlets so I have no clue and really need advice. Thanks

lovf   The seaweed will do this for sure. Take it for a run where there is no weed and see how you go :)

See you on the water for some FUN!

Yeah I just don't know if it was having trouble with suction but would be a different story when it is actually hooked up to a hose.
