Hi there,

I am an early 50's new owner of a near new 2016 Yamaha VX Limited. I (will) mostly ride out of Manly Harbour, and have now done a grand total of 5 hrs ever on a ski! Although I guess it's only my first week.

I purchased this one to be able to get out on my own to fish and sometimes cruise with some of the family.  The VX Limited seems quite adequate so far for my needs, especially as a newbie I guess. It also seems to have a nice range on the 70l tank, and the reverse, cruise control,  and no wake mode are perfect.  In fact, I don't know how you could ride a ski without cruise control over long distances.

I am looking for others out there from the same area for me to accompany them on cruises and fishing to the places that I am a little tentative about going on my own!

I would also like to do a run to Tangalooma - but not on my own- looking for advice and safety guides etc.

I have already made my own fishing ski rig using an esky I already owned, and so far seems to be good enough, at least for the whiting! Classic design copied from many others on the market! See attached. About $60 of parts.

Also seeking advice on added safety gear...EPIRBs, PLBs, sounders/plotters, radios, etc. For instance, the law says carry an EPIRB for outside, but wouldn't a PLB be a better/safer option for a Jetski?

cheers

Paul

Hi Paul, great to meet you :) You're right about the PLB's and the Australian Jet Ski Association has been campaigning for it to be legal for around 2 years. Hopefully the great people that make the laws, yet have never sat on a Ski, actually think it through soon  blma

Hi All
I'm Craig, just recently bought a Seadoo Spark.

Just really hoping to find a group of people who can help me find my sea legs, find all the good places to go, and have a lot fun along the way.

Hi
I just picked up my first ever Ski last week. A very tidy 2012 Seadoo RXT 260rs. Only 55hours on the clock. Went out Sunday at Redcliffe. Amazing day, and the ski is so much fun.
I'm in my mid 40's. I should have done this years ago.
I would certainly like to join you on some of your weekend adventures.
I have a fishing rack too. So if anyone is keen on a fishing trip just let me know.

What a great site you have here. I've already spent hours just reading.

See you on the water
Dazz

Gday All,
Just got my first Jetski last week and keen to get out and learn of some great fishing spots with fellow jetski fisherman and fisherwoman.
I am based at Caboolture but happy to travel for a feed of great fish.
If anyone is keen to show me the ropes and good spots to catch Snapper, Tuna, Mackeral etc... Please send me an email dwambo121@bigpond.com
Cheers

Gidday, Don Dickson (Dicko) after 30 years in the Army now out and have brought myself a Seadoo GTX 155, and looking forward to having some fun. Live on the northern side of Brisbane and am planning to take the ski to Deepwater bend Saturday the 24th September for a play and explore. Looking forward to meeting with anyone and sharing times on the water, would also like to ride over to Tamgaloma some time. Cheers Dicko.
