Advice Required 6 knot zones

6 knot zone information needed.
I'm always seeing boats and ski's at speed not doing the 6 knots but outside the channel.
Is only 6 knots required if you are inside the markers?

Even better but GCWA failed to put land mark reference points on the map so you have to guess a bit!

Hi Wakyd1, maybe these examples help you.

1. The Northern end of South Straddie has a 6 knots zone within the markers. That's where all these boats anchor. You stay way out on the lefthand side, you're good (unless during low tide in which case you're sitting on a sandbank)  bleh

2. The ride from Bribie to Coloudra is through a go-slow zone unless you stay within the markers. Same applies to the Rouse north of Peel Island.

The markers just help to navigate and avoid any nasties. Speeding in a go-slow zone outside the markers is still within the borders of the go-slow zone. Take the one from the Gutter Bar to Tangas.

What ever you do, do not follow other jetski’s or boats. Study the route you are going to take the night before you leave.
