Jet Ski News Two speed Gearbox
« on: May 02, 2018, 10:34:21 PM »
A two speed shiftable gear box designed as a bolt in unit for pwc's is currently being tested here in Brisbane with great results achieved so far.
The unit being trialed has to date returned an increase in range of up to approximately 70% for a standard tank of fuel allowing for different weather conditions and on board weights.
We have found this to be on par with the same range when carrying an extra two 20 liter fuel containers, while not sacrificing an extra 40 kilo's of weight capacity for the extra range.
Also noted has been an increase in top speed and acceleration depending on the impeller setup used during testing.

Firstly: We would like to say a big thank you to the Jet Ski shop that has given us an amazing amount of support and a wealth of knowledge in the development of this product.

You Know who you are!.... THANK YOU

Secondly: To all of you who enjoy and cherish this wonderful sport and recreational activity we share we would appreciate your thoughts on the need and uses for such a product.

Yes, I've always thought a gearbox would be awesome. However I've always thought gearing down not up with a taller pitch on the prop would work better.
Now were in the dawn of electric motors with many being tested in Skis around the broadwater.

This means we're able to consider direct drive up to 16000 rpm or more as opposed to topping out at 10 which makes for a very interesting bright future indeed wh
