Hi all, I thought I'd share my 2010 Seadoo's 130 GTI Seat Strap repair process.
After many faithful years of service the seat strap's rivet fatigued (seadoo part# 293150067) and sheared off during a clean of my ski.
Turns out that these are not your average rivet, and had to purchase the part from a Seadoo/Cam-Am dealer in Logan, who was very helpful.
Required tools/parts:
- 1x Rivet #293150067 (may also need 1x Grommet #293720067)
- Large Rivet gun to suit above rivet (aprox 6.35mm)
- Drill (with 2.5mm and 3.5mm bits)
- Small flatblade Screwdriver, and needle nose Pliers (for staple removal)
- Thin metal/wooden shim (aprox 2mm, prevents drilling into the seat

)
- Upholstery Staple gun (ideal, but not necessary, I didn't have one so I reused the staples and hammered them back in

)
Procedure:
* Remove the seat staples around the strap to access the back.
* Insert the shim between the back of the rivet and under the foam padding.
* Drill a small pilot hole into the rivet (2.5mm), and then carefully drill out the rivet. Then remove the rivet, and cleanup and loose filings in the seat.
* I didn't need to but it's worth the time to inspect the grommet and replace if necessary (Grommet crown faces the engine bay).
* Restaple (hammer in staples)
* ReRivet the strap back into place
And that's it, let me know if you have any questions, or need any further info.
Cheers
