The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games are coming and things are about to get very busy.

Southport is a key event precinct hosting Triathlon, Marathon, Swimming and Diving. It will host competition vents on 10 of the 11 day period of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) from 4 – 15 April 2018.

To ensure the safety and security of athletes, spectators and the community, there will be changes to the waterways, road network and public transport in the lead up to, during and after these events

including:
•   road and lane closures
•   speed limit changes
•   bus stop and timetable changes, and
•   changes to parking and load zones
•   changes to boat ramps and jetties

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC), City of Gold Coast, Queensland Police Service and the Department of Transport and Main Roads are working together to ensure the Gold Coast 2018 Games can be carried out safely while minimising the inconvenience to local residents and businesses.

With only 16 Wednesdays to go, you can start your planning by downloading the Southport Precinct Fact Sheet and the Waterways Flyer (attached below)

The Get Set for the Games team is available to help you understand how your staff, visitors/customers and freight travel could be impacted during the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
